CURRENT STATUS: FOSTER HOME NEEDED/FOSTER TO ADOPT

Walter is officially ready for his forever home, and he truly deserves nothing but the very best. He has done absolutely nothing wrong - he simply needed help. Walter was found living in a drainage ditch beside a Dollar General in Missouri, and thankfully was given a second chance at safety and love.

Walter is approximately 8 months old and currently weighs about 36 lbs, with expectations that he’ll grow into a medium-to-large dog. He appears to be a Heeler mix, but his breed is unknown. Walter is kennel trained and house trained. Walter is still a baby, so continued consistency will help him become the best boy he can be.

He gets along beautifully with cats and other dogs and has a wonderful balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddles. Walter loves to play, but he’s just as happy relaxing on the couch with his people. He already knows how to sit, patiently waits for his food, and waits for the “OK” command before exiting his kennel - showing how smart and eager to please he is.

Walter is a special boy who has already overcome so much, and he deserves a loving, committed home that will continue to guide him as he grows. He is a perfect family dog and needs a home that has time for a young pup like him.

He is fully vetted up to date on vaccinations, he is neutered and on monthly heartworm prevention. He will come with 30 days’ free pet insurance to an approved adopter.
