Before applying or contacting us, we kindly ask that you review the FAQs at the bottom of this page. We receive a high volume of inquiries about our adoption process, and many of your questions are already answered there.

As a volunteer-run rescue, our time and resources are limited — reviewing the FAQs helps us focus on what matters most: finding loving homes for the animals in our care. Thank you for your understanding and support!

    ready to adopt?

Submitting an application is the first step in our adoption process. While you may be a strong candidate, please note that only approved applicants will be contacted due to the volume of applications we receive.

If your application is selected, a member of our Adoptions Team will reach out via email to schedule a virtual interview. Be sure to check your junk or spam folders so you don’t miss any communication from us.

Thank you for your interest in giving a rescue dog a loving home!

Bringing home a new furry family member is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it can also come with some adjustments. It’s important to plan ahead and be prepared for the transition as your dog settles in.

One helpful way to understand your new pup’s journey is through the 3-3-3 rule. This simple guide explains the decompression process most rescue dogs experience during the first:

🐾 3 Days – Feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or scared. They may sleep a lot, withdraw, or test boundaries.
🐾 3 Weeks – Settling in, starting to feel more comfortable, learning the routine, and showing more personality.
🐾 3 Months – Feeling fully at home, building trust, and forming a strong bond with their new family.

  • As you consider adoption, please keep in mind that bringing a dog into your life is a significant commitment—both in time and finances. We want every adoption to be a successful, lifelong match.

🔸 Adoption Fee: $750 (unless otherwise noted)
🔸 Fees are non-negotiable and must be paid in full at the time of adoption.

100% of the adoption fee goes directly back into our rescue efforts, helping us save and support more dogs in need. 🐶💕

    Each adopted dog comes with:

    • 🏥 Age appropriate vaccination(s)

    • 💊 Deworming and flea/tick prevention (1 month supply)

    • ✂️ Spay/neuter surgery

Some of our dogs require only routine care, while others may need more extensive medical or behavioural support. As a non-profit, we rely entirely on adoption fees, donations, and fundraising to continue our life-saving work.

Thank you for choosing adoption and supporting rescue dogs!

  • Please apply via our adoption or foster to adopt application. If that dog seems like a good match our Adoptions Team will work with their foster to schedule a one-on-one meeting at a pre scheduled time. As many of our fosters can be based in different cities, this may begin with a video meeting.

  • Once your application has been processed by our Adoptions Team and they’ve scheduled you a one-on-one meeting with their current foster parents we will discuss the best place to meet. Perhaps virtually to begin, or maybe a nearby park, the foster families home or a walk through the neighbourhood.

After you spend time with the dog, you will have a chance to ask their current foster family any questions you might have. If you are ready to adopt, the Adoptions Team will review your pup’s medical records, help you fill out necessary paperwork, complete payment and provide you with post adoption support materials.

Please remember most rescue dogs have been through a lot throughout their lives and even more over the last few days or weeks. Adoption meetings can be stressful for dogs, so please trust that although a pet might not display all the qualities you read about in a foster parent's description, this may be due to the environment, and it will likely take time for the dog to acclimate in a new home. A dog who won't even look at you at a first meeting could be attached at the hip after 24 hours in your home, a dog who just wants to run at the meeting might be a couch potato, and a dog who barks in a crate at a meeting could be quiet as a mouse at home.

We are always as honest and transparent as possible about our dog’s behaviours, so please feel free to ask questions!

  • For all of our pups, we offer a Foster to Adopt option, so that you can get to know the dog a bit better before deciding if it's the right fit. This is a wonderful option for you if you need some extra time, and for our dogs who will have the opportunity to show off their best selves!

  • We are a foster-based rescue group in South Western Ontario - we don’t have a shelter. Our fosters and volunteers are spread across the province but we’re always here to answer any questions you may have!

  • We are glad you asked! We have a great guide to making sure you're ready as can be when bringing home a new pup.
