She was first spotted standing in the rain outside in Houston, desperately begging for help for herself and her puppies, who were huddled under a pickup truck. It was an unsafe area, and she was being ignored. But prayers were answered that day — thanks to the kindness of a nearby tire shop owner and employees, Noel and her eight puppies were safely loaded into an SUV and given a chance at a new life. Her puppies were vaccinated, transported to Iowa, and all found loving homes within two weeks. Noel, however, couldn’t go with them because she tested positive for heartworms. While her babies were settling into new families, Noel stayed behind to begin her treatment. Despite everything she’s been through — abandonment, hunger, the streets — Noel’s spirit remains gentle and kind. She’s a fairly calm dog overall, but she definitely enjoys her zoomies and loves a good game of tug or fetch. This sweet affection queen loves nothing more than hugs and belly rubs.
