Maxine is an incredible Plott Hound mix with a gentle soul who’s simply looking for a quiet place to rest her head and a person to call her own. After all she’s been through, she dreams of a soft bed and a peaceful home where she can finally decompress and feel safe.

Her journey hasn’t been easy. Maxine narrowly escaped euthanasia after spending months in a high-intake shelter. She was then adopted in November 2024. Unfortunately, she was returned to us this March because she was a little too interested in the family’s cats — so, no feline friends for this sweet girl.

Today, Maxine is safe in boarding while we search for her perfect match. We’re hoping to find her a cat-free, dog-free home where she can be the star of the show. No small children, simply because we’re still getting to know her and want to set her up for success.
