kobo

APPROXIMATE AGE: 1.5 years

CURRENT STATUS: Available for Adoption/ Foster to Adopt

Kobo is an 18-month-old Blue Heeler weighing about 30 lbs, and she’s the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart before you even realize it.

Right now, she’s still learning that the world is safe. In just two weeks, she’s gone from cautiously hiding in her crate to gently seeking out her people, choosing to be nearby, leaning in for soft ear scratches, and offering little licks when she starts to trust you. Once she bonds with you, she’s incredibly affectionate and cuddly, happiest when she can sit close, soak up attention, and nap somewhere warm and sunny.

She’s gentle, sensitive, and currently timid with new people, but never aggressive. With calm, patient introductions and slow movements, she warms up beautifully. Each day she grows a bit braver.

When she feels comfortable, Kobo is very much an “always on the go” kind of girl. She loves being outside, going for walks, and would thrive with someone who enjoys hiking, long walks, or active outdoor time. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus for her, she has energy to burn and loves to move.

Kobo enjoys friendly greetings with other dogs and people on walks, though she hasn’t been fully assessed living with another dog yet. She has not been exposed to children in her current environment, but has shown no signs of aggression toward adults. She has not been cat tested.

At night and when her people are out, she settles into her crate, which she is slowly learning is a safe and comfortable space. While she prefers being out with her humans, she is beginning to settle and self-soothe more each day.

Kobo hops in the car on her own and rests quietly in the back seat like a seasoned traveler. She walks very well on leash and hasn’t been off-leash yet. Like all dogs, she’ll thrive with continued positive training and structure.

What Kobo is looking for:
A patient, active home with a secure fenced yard, and someone (or a family) who can give her daily exercise, structure, and reassurance as she continues to build confidence. A quieter home while she adjusts would be ideal, though her needs may evolve as she settles in and feels more secure.

Kobo is looking for someone who will see her softness, go at her pace, and help her grow into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be.
