Charlie is a handsome 2-year-old Lab mix weighing about 50 pounds, and he's searching for a patient, loving family to help him continue building confidence and discovering just how wonderful life can be.

While he can be shy and fearful around people, every day he shows a little more of his sweet personality. He has started peeking around corners to check on his foster family, loves exploring outdoors, and absolutely lights up when he's around other dogs.

One of Charlie's favorite things is playing with his canine friends. He and his foster brother, have become fast friends, spending their days chasing each other, wrestling, and enjoying playful adventures together. Charlie truly seems most comfortable and confident when another dog is around, and we believe a home with a friendly, confident dog his size or larger would help him thrive.

When he's feeling playful, Charlie enjoys:
- Playing with toys
- Earning tasty treats
- Exploring on walks and sniffing new things
- Digging in the yard
- Relaxing in his crate, which he considers his safe space

Charlie is crate trained and does very well when left alone. He settles comfortably, naps peacefully, and has never tried to escape his crate.

Because Charlie is still building trust with people, he would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient couple or small family. A home with a fenced yard or access to peaceful walking areas would be ideal. Loud environments, fast movements, and unexpected noises can still be overwhelming for him.

Charlie has shown no aggression toward people or other dogs. He's simply a sensitive boy who needs time, understanding, and kindness. As he becomes more comfortable, we expect even more of his personality to shine through.

His future family should know that Charlie is smart and eager to learn, but training will be most successful once he feels safe and secure. Right now, he's focused on learning to trust. With patience and consistency, we think he'll blossom into an incredible companion.

Charlie isn't looking for perfection, he's looking for someone willing to give him the time and space he needs to become the dog he's meant to be. In return, you'll get the privilege of watching a cautious, gentle soul grow into a confident and loving companion.
