CURRENT STATUS: Available for Adoption / Foster to Adopt

At 2 years old and 25 pounds, May is the perfect medium-sized companion with a big personality packed into a small body. With her adorable mix of features, she looks like she might have some Labrador Retriever in her, mixed with a smaller breed like Chihuahua or Dachshund -whatever her breed blend may be, she's 100% lovable.

May is a happy, playful, affectionate girl who absolutely adores her people. Once she trusts you, she'll look at you like you're her whole world. She even smiles! Her favorite things include belly rubs, sunshine, and spending time outdoors.

While May is incredibly sweet, she can be a little shy when meeting new people. She may bark from a distance while she works up the courage to come say hello, but patience and kindness quickly win her over. She prefers not to be grabbed or picked up unexpectedly and can be cautious when people approach her directly. Even when she's nervous, she's gentle and simply freezes rather than reacting negatively. She's observant, intelligent, and catches onto routines and expectations very quickly.

May enjoys a balance of playtime and relaxation. She loves playing with other dogs and happily keeps up with dogs of all sizes. May thrives with canine companionship, would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help boost her confidence and keep her company.

May is house-trained, sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, and does very well when left loose in the house. She doesn't chew, jump on people, or get into mischief. While she can be a bit of an alarm system outdoors and may bark when she notices neighbors, she's generally quiet and well-mannered inside the home.

On walks, May can be hesitant to leave the comfort of the house at first, but once she gets going, she's happy to trot along by your side. She's not reactive to other dogs or people and prefers to observe strangers from a comfortable distance.

May has previously been reported to do well with children and cats, and she doesn't seem bothered by loud noises. She would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands she may need a little time to build confidence with new people and situations.
