ruby
CURRENT STATUS: Foster Needed / Foster to Adopt
Ruby is, quite simply, one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. At her core she’s a happy-go-lucky girl with a whole lot of love to give—the kind of dog who greets you with her wiggly excitement, gives gentle kisses, and then happily flops down beside you to relax. When she’s calm, she is affectionate, easygoing, and endlessly devoted.
She does come with a few things her new family should know, and we promise they’re all part of her charm. Ruby gets very excited when she meets new people and dogs, so calm, slow introductions are the way to her heart—once she settles, she’s a gentle, loving companion.
She’s a little timid by nature, cowers at loud noises, and is shy around men (though never aggressive). If she ever flashes you a toothy “smile,” don’t worry—that’s just Ruby saying hello!
Ruby is wonderful with other dogs and has a long history of positive, friendly play. She’s also incredibly gentle with little ones, living up to the classic “nanny dog” reputation. She’s clever, too—truly an escape artist who can clear tall fences, scratch at doors, and even let herself out of certain crates. Because of this, she’ll thrive in a home with secure, high fencing and a family that can keep a watchful eye on her Houdini tendencies.
As she’s gotten older, her bladder isn’t quite what it used to be, so she’ll need more frequent potty breaks to stay comfortable.
Ruby’s ideal home: a loving, secure space where she can finally roam freely and just be herself.
She would do well as an only dog or with a calm, dog-savvy companion introduced slowly.
She’s good off-leash but full of joyful energy, so a safely enclosed yard is a must.
Ruby is deeply loved, and she is looking for a family who will cherish her for the gentle, goofy, affectionate soul she is.
