Some dogs run into your life with boundless confidence. Others quietly wait for someone willing to see the beautiful heart hiding beneath their shyness. Luna is one of those special dogs. Luna is a 2-year-old, 30-pound, spayed female who spent the first part of her life confined to a small fenced area in the mountains, with very little human interaction. She was rescued from neglect and had never experienced the comfort, safety, or love that every dog deserves.

With patience, kindness, and time, Luna has blossomed into a gentle, loving companion who is learning every day that people can be trusted. She may never be the dog who rushes to greet every stranger, but once you earn her trust, she'll quietly steal your heart.

What makes Luna so special:

• Exceptionally gentle, calm, and quiet around the house.
• Rarely barks and is wonderfully well-mannered.
• Loves other dogs and would thrive with a friendly canine companion.
• Has no separation anxiety and happily naps while you're away.
• House-trained.
• Never mouths or nips, she takes treats as gently as possible.
• Smart, thoughtful, and loves scent games and enrichment activities.
• Once she feels safe, she'll softly nudge you with her nose when she wants a little love.

Luna isn't demanding or overly energetic. She's the kind of dog who enjoys exploring nature, sniffing the world around her, playing with dog friends, then coming home to relax beside the people she loves.

Luna’s ideal home:

She would do best in:
• A quiet home, away from heavy traffic (cars can still be frightening for her).
• A family that will let her settle in at her own pace and who understands that trust is earned, not rushed.
• A home with another friendly, confident dog would be a bonus, as she absolutely loves canine companionship.
• Someone who is home more often to continue helping her build confidence.

She can be shy when meeting new people, but beneath that cautious exterior is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who truly wants to love and be loved.
