Mickey
CURRENT STATUS: Foster Needed
1.5 years old • Male • 12.16 lbs
Mickey is a young guy who is looking for someone who understands that young dogs need guidance, structure, boundaries, and consistency. He is crate trained and has lots of potential, but he will need a foster who is willing to take things slowly and allow him time to settle in.
Mickey has been described as a dog who “bites,” but no one at the shelter has actually experienced Micky biting.Because of the reports surrounding him, however, we want to be completely transparent. We are looking for a foster who will approach him with patience and caution while he learns to trust and feel comfortable.
Mickey would do best in an adult-only home with no children, where his people can provide clear rules, predictable routines, and plenty of time to decompress. He isn't a dog who should be rushed into new situations or overwhelmed with too much too soon.
He is dog-friendly and has not shown any signs of aggression toward humans or other animals. He simply needs someone willing to give him the time, structure, and guidance he needs to feel secure.
Mickey needs someone who will see the dog underneath the uncertainty — someone willing to go slow, respect his boundaries, and give him the structure he needs to succeed.
