At just 2 years old and 27 lbs, River is the ideal medium-sized adventure companion: athletic, intelligent, playful, deeply loyal, and overflowing with personality. His unique mix includes Border Collie, Australian Cattle Dog, Collie, Shepherd, and Russell Terrier, which may explain his adorable oversized ears that everyone falls in love with instantly. But River’s most special feature isn’t his looks, it’s his heart.
He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest close by, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch, sleeping nearby, or gently nudging you for affection. River is the definition of a “Velcro dog”, devoted, sensitive, intuitive, and incredibly loving. He doesn’t just want a home; he wants a genuine connection with his humans.
River is active, curious, and always ready for an adventure. His ideal home would include:

Condo and apartment living have been stressful for him due to hallway noise, so he would do best in a quieter home environment. River is exceptionally smart, highly trainable, eager to learn and deeply devoted to the people he loves.
