Ricky Nelson – A Sweet Boy Who Needs a Chance 🐾❤️

Ricky Nelson is a 5-year-old lab mix, neutered and ready for a loving home. This handsome, patient, and affectionate boy is incredibly smart and food-motivated, making him quick to learn new commands. He already knows visual cues for sit and paw, and his favorite place in the world is snuggled up in someone’s lap. 🐕💖

Ricky has previously bonded well with both male and female dogs, showing he can adapt to a multi-dog household. Despite spending much of his life in the municipal shelter system, Ricky has remained sweet and loving — a true miracle considering the circumstances he’s endured. Like many black dogs, he’s been overlooked for far too long.

Thanks to the efforts of our rescue partner, Ricky has been saved from euthanasia and given a second chance at life. Now, he’s looking for a foster home by October 15 to help him transition safely and start his journey to a forever family. 🏡

Ricky Nelson has so much love to give — all he needs is someone willing to take a chance on him. With patience, care, and affection, he will become the loyal, devoted companion you’ve been waiting for. 💕
