CURRENT STATUS: FOSTER NEEDED

Mabel is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 45 lbs. She was abandoned by her previous owners and gave birth to eight puppies while trying to survive on her own. Tragically, before help could reach her, four of her babies froze to death.

Her surviving puppies have since made their way into rescue, and now it’s Mabel’s turn to find the safe, loving home she has always deserved. 🤍

Mabel is very shy when you first meet her. She may act like she doesn’t want attention, but the truth is - she really does. Once she feels safe, her gentle, loving nature starts to shine through. We believe she may have been mistreated in the past, as she’ll happily walk near you but may cower if you turn toward her or reach down too quickly. She’s learning that she is safe now, and that people can be kind.

🐾 Mabel is wonderful with other dogs and currently lives peacefully with 12 cats, showing no issues at all. Mabel will need structure and rules, we expect her foster to take things slow.
