CURRENT STATUS: Foster Needed/ Foster to Adopt

April is a 1-year-old, 58 lb girl who is ready to find her perfect match. She is currently in a small rural shelter,  and we desperately want to save her. 

She's crate trained, walks well on a leash, and has a medium energy level — active enough to enjoy adventures, but not bouncing off the walls.

What really stands out about April is her confidence. She does well in crowds, traffic, and noise without getting rattled, and she's good with people, kids, and dogs of all sizes — big or small. She'd thrive as an only dog or in a home with another dog.

A couple of things her new family should know:

• April needs some decompression time to settle into a new home and routine

• For safety during this adjustment period, she should be double-leashed on walks

• She'll do best with a structured routine and consistent, proper exercise

April is a steady, confident girl who just needs a little patience while she settles in — after that, she sounds like she'll be an easy, wonderful companion.
