levi
APPROXIMATE AGE: 9 years
CURRENT STATUS: AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Levi has been a deeply loved companion for the past 9 years and is full of personality, loyalty, and energy. He is a 52 lbs mini Aussie who thrives when he’s with his people and truly shines in a calm, predictable environment where he can feel safe and secure. Levi’s favorite things in the world are playing fetch, relaxing in the water, and spending quality time with his humans. When he’s comfortable, he is incredibly affectionate—he loves to cuddle, lounge on the couch, and be right by your side. He is also an active, playful dog who enjoys having a job to do, especially anything involving a ball. Levi is a herding breed, and with that comes strong instincts—he can be vocal and may try to herd his people. He is also very protective of his home and his person, and he forms strong bonds with those he trusts.
●Loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented
●Playful and active, especially with fetch and toys
●Can be protective and vocal
●Has a history of reactivity and resource guarding (food, toys, people)
●Has never bitten anyone, but will communicate discomfort through barking or jumping
●Takes time—sometimes weeks to months—to fully trust new people
Levi does best with:
A small, consistent social circle
A low-traffic home with minimal new visitors
Careful, slow introductions to new people and animals
He is currently:
●Okay with some female dogs (with proper management)
●Struggles with male dogs due to dominance
●Good with a female cat in the home
●Not suitable for dog parks or high-dog-traffic environments
Levi would thrive in a home that offers:
A secure fenced yard where he can safely play fetch
A calm, structured environment
An experienced adopter who understands reactivity and resource guarding
A home without young children or with older, dog-savvy children
Someone willing to manage introductions and respect his boundaries
He has done very well living in a quieter, country setting over the past few years, where he has less exposure to unpredictable situations. Levi is not a beginner dog—he needs someone patient, confident, and understanding of his triggers. With the right home, Levi can continue to live a happy, fulfilled life doing what he loves most: playing fetch, bonding with his person, and enjoying the comfort of a safe, loving environment. He has so much love to give to the right person who is willing to meet him where he’s at. He has done very well living in a quieter, country setting over the past few years, where he has less exposure to unpredictable situations.
For the right person, he’s an incredibly loyal, loving companion.
