Guadalupe is a 3-year-old male Terrier who is very shy and fearful, but incredibly gentle and sweet. He has transitioned well into rescue care, though he is still slowly decompressing and learning that the world can be safe. Guadalupe came from a hoarding situation involving hundreds of dogs, and because of this, he will need time, patience, and understanding as he continues to build confidence. We feel Guadalupe would do best in a quiet home with another small, friendly dog, as canine companionship will help him feel more secure and supported. He is not a dog who should be rushed - consistency, calm energy, and routine are key for his success. Our hope is to find a committed foster or foster-to-adopt home that is willing to give him the stability he needs so he can finally settle into a home he never has to leave.

Guadalupe is a flight risk, so his safety is our top priority. His foster or adopter must understand the importance of strict safety measures, including secure handling and supervision at all times. We strongly recommend the use of a Tractive GPS tracker to help ensure he is always safe and accounted for. Guadalupe should not be placed in situations where he could escape or run. A fenced in yard is mandatory as well as another small dog.

He is a truly lovely boy who just needs someone willing to go slow and let him bloom in his own time. With patience and the right environment, Guadalupe has the potential to thrive. He is fully vetted, up to date on his vaccination and neutered. He will come with 30 days of free pet insurance to an approved adopter.
