Through no fault of his own, Franklin is looking for a new family to love. His owner is sadly no longer able to care for him due to health challenges, and now this big-hearted boy is hoping for a second chance at a forever home.
At just 3 years old, Franklin is an 80-pound Shepherd/Bully mix with a goofy personality, a loyal heart, and endless love to give. He's happiest when he's with his people! Whether that's exploring outdoors, hopping in the car for an adventure, or simply lying nearby watching you go about your day, Franklin is happiest just being part of your world..
A little about Franklin:
Active boy who needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation
Fully crate trained and very comfortable in his crate (he'll happily settle down with his carrot!)
Loves going for car rides
Loves chew toys and anything he can enthusiastically "de-stuff"
Hasn't lived with children and would do best with older kids because he doesn't always realize how big he is
Can live with calm, easygoing dogs, but prefers not to be challenged
Has lived with dog-savvy cats but would do best with confident cats who can handle his curiosity –not senior or fragile cats
Knows boundaries well and does best with clear structure and consistent rules
He may jump on doors, windows, or vehicles when excited (though he rarely jumps on people).
Off-leash trained with an e-collar and enjoys staying close to his people
Loves nothing more than being near his family and quietly keeping you company
He can resource guard toys and other high-value items, so his new family should be prepared to continue managing this appropriately.
The vacuum is one of the few things that makes this confident boy a little unsure!
Franklin isn't looking for perfection -he's looking for someone willing to understand him, give him guidance, and make him part of the family. In return, you'll have a dog whose loyalty runs deep, who will happily ride shotgun on every adventure, quietly watch over you while you work, and remind you every day just how special the bond between a dog and their person can be.
